WORKING WITH WATERCOLOR

"I work primarily in watercolor because it invites surprise and spontaneity as colors merge and dance on the page with water as the guide. Watercolor is the perfect travel companion to capture a vignette or the essence of a scene and cleanup is a breeze compared to other mediums. I enjoy the multiple, thin layers of transparent pigment that create depth and texture in my work.
The inspiration for my art comes from the beauty around me: the strength of a single flower, the mystery of a half opened door, or the voluptuous shape of a pear."
