Certified Nursing Assistant Level 2 (CNA2) Acute Care Training Course

COCC is offering a noncredit CNA2 course fall term, 2009. This 80-hour course includes lecture, skills lab and clinical practicum. You must hold a current unencumbered Oregon CNA1 license by September 1 to take this course. Please review the following documents containing information you will need to consider before registering for this course:
CNA2 Course Information - Includes course schedule, prerequisites, costs, books, registration information.
Partial Grant Application - $300 per person grants are available for the fall term course.
Immunization Information - Detailed information on immunization, TB, CPR for Healthcare Providers requirement.
Letter of Agreement - After you’ve registered and paid, please read and sign this letter confirming your agreement to meet the prerequisites by deadlines provided.

Sport-Related Shoulder Injury Management NEW!
Shoulder injuries account for a significant proportion of sports injuries. Get information on managing and treating sports-related shoulder injuries including rotator cuff pathologies, instabilities, labral tears, and scapular dyskinesias from Orthopedic Sports Medicine Specialist Dr. Tim Bollom and Physical Therapist Burke Selbst.
Pain Management for Physical Therapists NEW!
Physical Therapists and any other health care providers can complete the pain education requirement without traveling out of town. Includes the neurobiology of pain, physical therapy interventions for pain treatment, chronic pain pharmacology, craniofacial pain, headaches, sciatica, fibromyalgia, and complementary/alternative approaches to pain management. This course meets the pain management education requirement mandated by Senate Bill 879 (This requirement includes 6 CE hours of coursework dealing with pain and a free 1 hour on-line training course offered by the pain commission). Insurance Billing Basics
Designed for health care professionals and others who want to learn to navigate the process of billing insurance companies. This class guides you through the basic functions of how fees and reimbursement amounts are established, documentation, billing of medical services and receiving reimbursements. Forms and resources addressed include the RBRVS (Resource Based Relative Value System), patient encounter form, CMS 1500, Insurance EOB.

Nutritional Therapy Training Course
This 14 Module course presented by The Nutritional Therapy Association, Inc. (NTA), taught over 9 months (fall, winter and spring quarter), trains students to conduct functional evaluations, balance body chemistry, and help others achieve vibrant health and wellness. Students will learn the role of diet, nutrition and lifestyle, learn to assess individual nutritional status and offer dietary counseling, and address nutritional deficiencies.
