The Even Start Family Literacy Program is equally dedicated to adult education in English Language Learning, child development, parent and child communication, and parent education. Unlike other ELL classes, Family Literacy serves parents along with their babies or young children and makes it possible for parents and their young children to learn together. Children participate in preschool activities with trained staff and volunteers while parents work with adult instructors. Children under the age of one stay with a parent in the adult room. Parents are eligible for free classes if they need ELL instruction and have a child, birth through 7 years of age.
