Transcript Evaluation

ABE office in Redmond

·   Determine how many credits and which courses you need to graduate with a COCC High School Diploma

After your transcript has been evaluated, you will be contacted by a COCC high school adviser to schedule your orientation.

Advising and Testing

1 – 2 hours

 

By appointment in your community

·   Review short term/long term goals

·   Develop a learning plan and schedule

·   Determine skill levels in reading, writing, and math

 

HSD Class with an Instructor

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Distance Learning

GED/College Prep class until pass competencies in reading, writing, and math; Starts and ends on college term.



Group Dynamics Cohort to complete 0.5 credit course and other diploma requirements; meets once a month

$30/term until competency exams are passed—one credit earned. 

$90 for every half credit course plus books and materials.  Some scholarship assistance available. 

GED/College Prep classroom

·   Improve basic reading, writing, and math skills to secondary level

·   Meet competency requirements

·   Upon reaching secondary skills, students begin and complete Group Dynamics, a 0.5 credit course

·   Prepare for college level study

Registration occurs in the classroom.

The rest of the AHSD courses are completed through distance learning.

$90 per half credit plus books and materials.  Some scholarship assistance available (as much as half of total costs). 

Any computer with Internet access.

·   Complete  courses, based on transcript evaluation

·   Work with an online instructor

·   Work from your home computer

Register for new courses any time. Complete assignments on any computer with Internet access and the help of a distance learning instructor. Most courses offer testing through Blackboard.

Life Experience Credits

 

$90 per half credit

ABE Office

·   Receive credit for learning from life

Complete Life Experience Survey and supply documentation of experiences.  Most students must be at 25 years old to earn this credit.

COCC Credit Classes

Starts and ends on college term schedule.

$63 per credit plus books, materials, and fees. Most classes are 3 or 4 credits.

In COCC classrooms with credit instructors

·   Earn college credit and high school credit at the same time

Apply for admission to COCC and take the placement test. Work with an HSD adviser and a credit adviser in preparing your schedule.
